Homemade deodorant

Makes: 2 full 2.5 oz deodorant sticks
+ a little extra

10 minutes prep

30 min in freezer to set up

NOTES:

I like to use bentonite clay I know that is not something everyone has on hand, if you do not use then use the following:

  • 11 Tbs Baking Soda (can add more or less depending on how you like consistency)

  • 11 Tbs Arrowroot powder (can add more or les depending how you like consistency)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shea butter

  • 3 Tbs Coconut oil

  • 8 Tbs Arrowroot Powder

  • 8 Tbs Baking Soda ( I use Bob’s Red Mill brand)

  • 6 Tbs Bentonite clay * (optional if you do not use see notes below)

  1. In a double broiler or in microwave safe bowl melt down shea butter & coconut oil

  2. After melted take off heat & mix in arrowroot powder, baking soda & * bentonite clay. ( See notes if not using bentonite clay)

  3. Add in essential oils of choice, I like to use frankincense, cedar wood and lavender.

  4. Poor in to deodorant containers

  5. Place in the freezer or refrigerator to solidify (I do this to speed up the process)

  6. Remove from freezer/refrigerator and let come to room temperature.
